Rally cry of support for a True Patriot

Please take, use, and distribute far and wide across the land. Whether or not he's your candidate, Senator Gravel deserves to be heard. It is imperative to the democratic process that he be allowed to participate and share his views. Plus, he keeps the rest of the candidates honest and says things that no one else dares. Courage and integrity. Now more than ever.

Mike Gravel has proved himself as a true public servant and has done a lot of great things for his country. Unfortunately, his continues to shoot himself in the foot with his demeanor. Gravel makes people uncomfortable. Of course, you could argue that making people uncomfortable is an important function throughout the campaign process, will get people thinking, etc., but it certainly won't win him any votes.

Sadly, in this day and age, politics is nothing more than a game. Gravel is a seasoned politician and, if he's serious about getting elected, should know better than to present himself the way he does. Gravel cannot win the game unless he starts playing by the rules.

Boo, I made some typos. I hate typos. Way to proofread, self.

It's unfortunate that most people perceive Gravel in this way. And who can blame them, or blame Gravel for that matter? He's consistently given the least speaking time at debates, and this translates into his exasperated, sincere (though inadvertently humorous and bellicose) responses.

His recent "alternate debate" and YouTube videos reveal a different side to the man. I suggest anyone unfamiliar with Gravel to check them out.

He knows the political game, though to paraphrase John Edwards, the system AND the game are rigged. So it's difficult to play either in that format. He'll have to find exposure outside mainstream media, which deliberately marginalizes and discredits those of uncompromising integrity like himself.

I'd be frustrated too, if I had to listen to a bunch of talking heads propose how to end Iraq. ESPECIALLY if I was the guy who ended the draft and released the Pentagon Papers into the public record during Vietnam. And even though Gravel has the most aggressive exit strategy the he even presented to the Congress, it is not mentioned. His plan makes it a felony for anyone unauthorized that is still in Iraq after 120 days. Snap! Shame on the MSM!

Also, I think it more likely Gravel will remake the rules than he plays the current ones. He's a maverick!
